The legend of the Herbalife scam. it has been around for years, many people swear that Herbalife is a pyramid scheme. They say that it is definitely illegal, and to steer clear of anyone involved. This makes me laugh, I mean seriously. The company has been around for almost 30 years, there are 1.9 million distributors and $3.8 billion in revenue was created in 2008 alone. I know people are afraid of network marketing, but if this company was illegal I think they would be gone by now. In this Herbalife review I will cover some very important aspects of a successful MLM business.
Let’s look at some details about Herbalife.they are mainly known for their products in the nutritional market and they especially seem to place a focus on weight loss. They do have a line of skincare products and many other products as well. This, in my opinion gets rid of the scam talk right away. If a company has real products, they are not a pyramid scheme.
The Herbalife business opportunity and the Herbalife MLM company as a whole was founded in 1980 by a man named Mark Hughes. I’d did some research on the corporate staff and actually found it quite hard to see whattheir prior network marketing industry experience was. I would expect that they have some experience and if not I fear for the distributors. Management is a very important aspect and you want to find a company whose management knows what it’s like to be a distributor and focuses on them.
Next, we took a look at the Herbalife training that is available. Most of the training that is offered by the company is of the standard traditional network marketing variety. They teach you how to make and names list, and basically chase after everyone you have ever known and will ever know. The company does offer this training through an online site called herbalifecentral. The main focus in Herbalife however, is the sales of their products. Distributors have access to online shopping centers called myherbalife. Now obviously this pitch and chase technique has worked enough to grow a very large company, however 97% of the people who try this technique will fail within their first 60 days and quit. That doesn’t lead to a very good retention rate.
I did look into Herbalife’s compensation plan a bit, and found it very concerning that I could not find a clear outline on their website. However, with some diligence I found that they utilize a breakaway compensation plan we get a small percentage of your recruit’s volume. although Herbalife says they pay out a very high percentage from what I could find it looks like you would need a team of approximately 120 people to make an income of $1000 a month. Not exactly lucrative in my opinion.
So, looking at Herbalife’s compensation plan and knowing that the old school way of building your business is very slow, it seems like it will take a long time to make any money with Herbalife. You should know that this method is not the only way. There are many people in many MLM companies building their businesses online. They completely avoid the rejection of people close to them and strangers as well. With this Internet marketing, you could even have big enough numbers to make avery good living with Herbalife. It is MLM in the 21st century. It makes sense to be current, right?
